Nope – I only use computers as I don’t actually work in a lab. But I used to do use microscopes while I was an undergraduate at university, all the time! Also, I was part of an interactive show where we walked people through the history of the microscope and the many cool things that have been discovered with it – that’s where I saw the tiny organisms that live in pond water. My favourites were the volvox (which is an algae that looks like a big green spotted ball) and the water bear (which is a tiny creature that has bearlike claws, which is how it got its name. It is also thought to be the most resilient creature on Earth, being able to survive in the vacuum of space!)
