• Question: What will happen if the moon touches the sun?

      This is not likely to happen as the Moon can’t leave Earth’s orbit – unless something very big hits it out of orbit. Even then, it would not fall into the Sun.

      If we ignore the above and say that the Moon is somehow able to touch the Sun, it would probably start to melt because the sun is very, very hot!
