      Usually when we talk about germs, we mean bacteria – these do not spread over DNA, but usually spread through your blood or inside affected tissue.

      Some viruses, on the other hand, can use your DNA to make more of themselves, inserting their own DNA into yours and hijacking your DNA copying machinery for their own purposes!
