• Question: has any of you heard of the super moon

      Yep – supermoons happen when there is a full moon that happens to be on the point of its orbit that brings it closest to Earth. These can be quite amazing, being bigger and brighter than your average full moon. Assuming you don’t have cloudy weather..

      Yes I have. Moon’s orbit around the earth is not a perfect circle. So somewhere in the orbit, it comes closest to the earth and at some other point in the orbit, it is at the farthest. When it is closest to the earth, than when moon is referred to as super moon (or perigee). The latest news is that the night of the 13th or 14th November will be a supermoon, so watch out for it.

      Yes but did you know the scientific name for it is a perigee syzygy?
