I’ve learned a lot! I know what it’s made of and how it’s copied from cell to cell, for example. However, DNA is a sort of blueprint, or cookbook, that tells our cells how to make us, and there are a lot of ‘recipes’ that we have not yet discovered – or ‘recipes’ that we know exist but we’ve not been able to decode yet – as though they were written in some strange language that we don’t yet understand. This is what I’m working on, what many scientists before me have been working on for decades, and it’s going to take a lot of scientists a lot of years more to fully unlock all the secrets of DNA.
