• Question: If light is the fastest thing on earth, how did the dark get there first?

      Light travels in straight lines. That’s why we get shadows. Shine a torch on your hand and you’ll see the shadow, you wont see the light travelling because its so fast but you’ll still get a shadow…Unless you put lots of mirrors around so the light can bounce back and go in different directions.

      Dark is just the absence of light – it is not actually made up of molecules. Since light is not produced by everything, everywhere, it means that certain places need to wait until light reaches them – light is fast, but it cannot get from one point to another instantaneously!
      Also, there are some places light can’t reach, because there is a barrier in its way – What Kate said about shadows!
