I’m going to break this down into 3 questions to make sure I’ve answered the one you’re asking

      1) What is the hottest external temperature which will kill a person?

There is no limit to this. Once you get hot enough, it would immediately kill any person. The Sun is over 5000 degrees Celsius. Some stars are even hotter. It doesn’t really matter. If you found yourself somehow falling into a star, you would die.

      2) What is the hottest temperature a person can be before they die?

Normal human body temperature is 35 to 37.5 degrees Celsius. I see kids all the time who have temperatures up to about 41 degrees Celsius which is due to the immune system reacting to fight infection. According to a quick literature search, at least one person survived having a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius after consuming a huge amount of illegal drugs.

      3) What is the hottest temperature a human can withstand before they die?

Timo Kaukonen is a 5-time World Sauna Championship winner. The last World Sauna Championship was held in 2010. The reason it hasn’t been held since is because after the 2010 event, one of the last two competitors died and Timo Kaukonen ended up getting 70% third degree burns and being in a coma for 6 weeks. Anyway, he managed to survive an external temperature of 110 degrees Celsius for 6 minutes. As a doctor, I would not recommend trying to beat this.

I hope that answers your question!
