      Cartoons would have you believe it is made out of cheese! Much to my disappointment (I love cheese!), it is actually a rock. Specifically, it is likely that it is made out of a piece of the Earth, when this piece broke off due to an asteroid impacting Earth around 4.5 billion years ago.
