A bit of clarification first: If something is poisonous, it means that you die if it comes into contact with you if you eat it, touch it or breathe it in.
The prize for most poisonous animal goes to the box jellyfish, whose tentacles contain a toxin that shuts your whole body down, killing you very quickly and painfully. Luckily, you’re not likely to come into contact with one on your average day, as they mostly live in waters near Asia and Australia.

Something is venomous is it injects its venom into your blood – such as snakes. I believe the most venomous snake is the inland taipan snake, whose bite contains enough venom to kill hundreds of people!
