As we think all life came from the sea, very early life forms will have been all kinds of fish and water organisms. Then we started colonizing the land, initially retaining the ability to breathe in water as well as on land – like some amphibians such as frogs can do even today. These creatures eventually led to dinosaurs, and much later on, to cavemen – it is actually a misconception that humans lived at the same time as dinosaurs did – dinosaurs went extinct a long time before humans ever came to be, so The Flintstones are wrong!
