• Question: why did they call the solar system the solar system?

      Solar means something to do with the sun (like a solar eclipse is when the sun is hidden by the moon, or a solar panel is a panel that collects sunlight to turn it in to electricity). A system is something with lots of parts which all work together or move in a certain way. So the solar system is called that because all the planets move around the sun, they all affect one another but the sun is the key part of the system. Hopefully that makes sense!
