Question: Will the planets last forever?

That’s a good question! I don’t know the answer I’m afraid. There are different ideas about what will happen in the very distant future. Some physicists think that the universe will keep expanding in which case the planets would still be there. Others think the universe will shrink again and the opposite of the big bang will happen, in which case there won’t be much of anything!
